Unterhalb der Darstellung mit "Plutus commands, & to the Arms Of doting Age, She yeilds her charms." bezeichnet und mit dem Vermerk "London, Pub. Feb: 1-1815, at R. Ackermann's, 101 Strand" versehen. – Der Tod traut das ungleiche Paar Eine spitzfedrige Karikatur mit zartem Kolorit aus der Reihe "The English Dance of Death".

Im Randbereich leicht gebräunt und stockfleckig. Insgesamt in einem guten Erhaltungszustand.

Künstler

Rowlandson, Thomas - (1756 Old Jewry / London - 1827 London). Englischer Kupferstecher, Radierer, Zeichner und Karikaturist. Studierte 1772-77 an der Royal Academy in London. Studierte in dieser Zeit auch in Paris bei Jean-Baptiste Pigalle. Freundschaft mit James Gillray und Henry William Bunbury. Arbeitete für den Verleger Rudolph Ackermann, mit dem er einige bedeutende humoristische Serien herausbrachte.
